Belated results of my 30 day healthy challenge!

March 02, 2014

Happy Sunday my lovelies!

**warning: this is going to be a bit of a long post so apologies in advance!**

So some of you might have been wondering... what about Eneshai's 30 day healthy challenge she did over a month ago? Well here are the belated results! haha. I'm so sorry about not posting it sooner, I have been so busy but that's only excuses.

I do have a confession to make though, I didn't stick to EVERYTHING on my list, but did do some other things instead to make up for it.

So here's what I set out for myself to do for 30 days:

x Wake up at 8am every morning
I woke up most mornings before 9am, but I didn't quite make it 8am every morning!

x At 8:30am, walk one of my dogs for about 1 hour
x At 9:30am, walk the other dog for about 1 hour
With the terrible weather we've had the last month or so it was hard to walk them everyday, but I did the best I could. :)

x No snacking (on junk food)!!!! (it's only 30 days.. it won't kill me!)
I admit to being guilty here. I didn't snack a lot, but I did snack the occasional days, which I said I wouldn't.

- Eat 3 meals a day (big breakfast, small lunch and dinner)
DONE!

x No eating after 7pm
Unfortunately this one was a little unrealistic for me seeing as I get home at about that time after work! Oh dope is me for not thinking this one through!

- Drink water, at least 8 cups
DONE! (I carried around a full bottle of water with me in work and filled it up whenever it was nearly empty! a sip every now and again is much better than drinking LOADS in one go!)

- Eat at least 5 pieces of fruit/veg a day
DONE!

- Wash face with face wash/exfoliator every morning and night.
DONE!! (I recently fallen in love with washing my face and keeping it very clean and hydrated! One of the things I enjoy doing everyday funnily enough!)

- Moisturize face morning and night
DONE!

x Exfoliate lips every day after brushing teeth
Did this a few days a week.. works wonders for your lips!

- Do 100 crunches
DONE! Also did additional core work with light weights!! And did lots of squats and bum exercises! :P

- Do stretching
DONE! It's  nice when you can stretch and there's no longer that super tight feeling! Woo woo!

- Do 20 pushups
DONE! Have been doing 30 and also the superman exercise and planks?

- Cycle to work at least once a week (2 hour return), if weather permits
DONE! I have cycled to work at least twice a week and it feels great!

x Bed early, by 11pm.
I haven't been able to do this every night, but some nights I have!

- Don't forget to smile everyday
DONE! Not that hard and not much effort needed! :P

And so there you have it 10/17 completed which is over 50% which I think is OOOOOKAAAAY! Not great, but I think I set too much goals and didn't quite think it through properly! More like a spur of the moment "YEAH LETS DO THIS!" kind of thing! :P

So has anything changed since you did this challenge?

I've definitely noticed I'm MUCH fitter than I was before I started! I have gained lean muscles from all the core work and exercises I've been doing and I find that my skin is much better than before, clearer and less prone to drying and also I haven't gotten much spots! My skin is nicely smooth and soft and this is what makes me enjoy properly cleansing and moisturizing my skin! The results are good enough to keep me going!
My stomach is flatter and more toned than before after doing my core work. Doing squats with light weights (and sometimes without!) have definitely helped my bottom become more plump and round (rather than saggy and flat), and I've noticed my thighs have slimmed down a bit too!

Sorry picture was taken with my phone so quality is terrible.

During those 30 days and even now I have tried limit my intake in gluten (wheat products) and meat, because the body doesn't need gluten and gluten has no nutritional values, and meat, because too much is bad for the body and you can get the same nutritients you get from meat from vegetables, the healthier option! :P And you'll feel more energy and less groggy and tired when you reduce your gluten and meat intake! (at least that's how I felt anyways!)

Overall, what I have achieved after this is feeling much more healthier and fitter than before I started, so I don't regret it one bit! It's a great way to lose fat and gain lean muscle, and especially coming up to the summer, this is great way to get your "bikini" body.

If you don't believe me, I challenge you to do the 10 out of 17 that I have managed to do and see how you feel after 30 days. :)

Sorry for the long post but hope you enjoyed reading it! :P
